Volume: Learn

Volume is the three-dimensional space within a solid shape. The units of volume are the cubes of the units of length (that is, if a shape's sides are measured in meters, then the shape's area is measured in cubic meters).

We can calculate the volume of a rectangular prism by multiplying the side lengths together. You might see this as the formula Volume=length*width*height

The basic volume formula for any prism is Base_Area*height, so with rectangular prisms, the Base_Area is length*width, and thus the volume formula is:
Vprism = l*w*h

For example, the volume of a rectangular prism with side lengths 5m, 3m, and 4m is 5*3*4 = 60m3.
